Where Taken- At the top of the Monument overlooking Grand Junction in Colorado USA.

When Taken- June 2008

Our holiday included 6 days in Las Vegas, a 12 day cruise through the Inland Passage and a 14 day car tour from Seattle to Grand Junction via Yellowstone national Park. Our purpose in going to Grand Junction was to visit a friend who lives at the base of the Monument. This photograph captures the spectacular scenery surrounding our friends house.

"This photo was taken in the Austrian Alps, on a road called the Pillar Pass. It was just beautiful and when the animals came down to the fence it was like something out of the sound of music!! We almost felt like singing "The hills are alive" ".

This shot is from Dianne Green. This picture was taken in the winter of 2006 while visiting Budapest. We went up into the Buda Hills and the snow was so fresh, we couldn't resist a snowball fight!!

Here is a pic of me (Elizabeth Hornsby) on my recent trip to Egypt. I am standing in front of the Sphinx and the first pyramid of Giza built by Cheops. It is believed that the sphinx was built in front of the pyramids to over sea and protect the Great Pyramids of Giza for all time to come.

This photo of me (Cathy Barry) was taken in the South Island of New Zealand, on the suspension bridge on the way to Queenstown, in May 2008.

There was an amazing view from the bridge, and it felt great to be standing there in the middle of the bridge, high above the gorge, seeing aspects of the landscape that were not visible without summoning up the courage to walk on the bridge. It was absolutely worth it!

This great photo was sent in by Amanda Burnett.

My husband and I recently did a 13 day Cruise around Italy and Croatia. The first photo was taken from the cruise ship as we were approaching Venice at 6am. Italy is my favourite holiday destination. The food, scenery and history are just incredible!

And another from Amanda Burnett

The second photo was taken in Rome. I was told from a friend to go to a Monastery called Knights of the Maltese Cross and to find a keyhole and look through it to see something spectacular. After much looking around the Monastery we couldn’t find the keyhole and we nearly gave up as it was 38 degrees. As we were about to leave we noticed a tour guide jump out of a car with a couple of American tourists and walk to a door that was 30 meters away. They all looked thru the keyhole and held their cameras against the keyhole in the door and took off in their car. We raced over to the door and were amazed to get such a perfect photo. The door was deliberately hung to line up with St Peters Dome.

My boyfriend (Michael) and I went on a Contiki tour in July this year…what an experience! As it was his first time overseas it just made everything so much more special, especially our favourite, Paris - the city of love. Helped along by perfect weather, our Europe Contiki tour was exactly what we needed and opened our eyes to the fantastic world of travel…we’re planning the next trip already!
