When 10 or more people travel to a common
destination for a common purpose, they are considered a group. For
groups, we will negotiate reduced rates for your air travel, accommodation,
meals and other required services. In this instance, all reservations
should be handled by one authorized person or department, not the
individual employees. Groups and conference policies may also include
budget restrictions, approval requirements and accounting and payment
procedures. It should also be noted that all 10 travellers do not
have to travel on the same flight e.g. 10 sales reps from all around
Australia meet in Sydney for a sales meeting for one day. The
discounts are sometimes in excess of 50%. These discounts may also be
used if more than 10 people from around Australia travel to one city for a
wedding.
V Australia
has now commenced its commercial service from Sydney to Los
Angeles. On board the inaugural flight were the airline’s
co-founders, Sir Richard Branson and Brett Godfrey, as well as some special
Australian celebrity guests. The airline will initially fly the
Sydney-LAX route three times a week, ramping up to daily from 20
March. The carrier will also launch direct fl ights from Brisbane and
Melbourne to LAX and recently confirmed it has set its sights on routes
from Australia to South Africa.
Organisations
in both the private and public sectors are striving to cut costs and
maximise their return on investment for every dollar spent.
We have seen a number of swings in the business cycle, with the travel
industry usually hit quite hard in downturns, but always demonstrating
great resilience and “bouncebackability”. One thing we have always seen,
though, is that businesses do need to travel, no matter how tough times
are. The trick is in managing the process as efficiently as possible to
meet business goals.
Pulse Travel is ready to work with you on the key issues related to
