Part of Malaysia Airlines' plan to slowly overhaul their fleet, the A330neo comes complete with a refreshed, next-generation Business Class suite, bringing a new level of comfort and luxury to long-haul flights for loyal Business Class passengers. [/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image="32034" img_size="full" alignment="center" css=""][vc_column_text css=""] Currently available on limited routes with the plan to roll out throughout routes across Australia, New Zealand, Asia and India, the new A330neo is built in a similar layout to the British Airways' Club Suite Business Class. Featuring a 1-2-1 configuration with each seat facing away from the aisle, passengers are guaranteed a sense of privacy throughout the flight – this also means that passengers who choose a window seat, will be able to face the window seat without turning their neck throughout the flight. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_single_image image="32037" img_size="full" css=""][vc_single_image image="32040" img_size="full" css=""][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_single_image image="32038" img_size="full" css=""][vc_single_image image="32039" img_size="full" css=""][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=""]Beyond an improved configuration for added privacy, Business Class passengers on the new A330neo can also expect a range of comfort and functionality improvements. A sliding door between the seats and the aisle has been added to create a greater sense of privacy for passengers sleeping, working, or choosing to have downtime, as well as a small sliding panel between the centre seats so that passengers flying together can still chat throughout the flight. Malaysia Airlines has also worked towards creating a more functional space for those flying long-haul flights, keeping the popular fully lie-flat bed while also adding more built-in storage options for passengers to securely store keys, wallets, phones and other small pieces safely. This storage nook, built into the armrest, also includes a headphone audio jack, as well as USB-A and USB-C outlets to allow for easy phone charging while flying. For those looking to conduct work while flying, the A330neo now also includes a simple-to-unfold table under the TV screen, with a power plug located in the footwell underneath. WiFi onboard is also free – just join the inflight MHconnect hotspot. Currently being rolled out to destinations including Melbourne, Auckland, Tokyo and Doha, Malaysia Airlines will gradually roll out this new class of airline throughout the coming years, phasing out their older A330's on a "one in, one out" basis.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

British Airways Unveils Brand New First-Class Cabin

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=""]November 28th, 2024 - British Airways Unveils Their Brand New First-Class Cabins British Airways has unveiled its brand-new First seat, combining elegant design with expert British craftsmanship, reflective of modern British luxury travel. The new cabin forms part of the airline’s A380 retrofit plans, expected to take to the skies in mid-2026. The airline’s new First has been carefully designed to provide the feel of a modern luxury hotel, alongside home comforts and thoughtful British touches at 35,000ft. The seat has been beautifully curated by expert designers and world-class manufacturers from all corners of Great Britain and Ireland, including London, Glasgow, West Yorkshire, Kilkeel and Dublin. [/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image="31927" img_size="full" alignment="center" css=""][vc_column_text css=""] The new seat is ultra-wide (36.5inches), with a bed length of 79inches, and features a multi-purpose ottoman and elegant stowable table, a 32-inch 4K TV screen, adjustable mood lighting including scenes such as ‘relax’, ‘dine’ and ‘cinema’. The seat can be adjusted with the touch of a button to find the perfect level of comfort and is located within a cocooned 60-inch curved wall for ultimate privacy, whilst still providing a spacious environment. For customers travelling together in the centre of the cabin, the divider slides open to create a shared lounge space, and the stowable tables mean customers can enjoy ‘buddy dining’ in the seat with their travel companion. The elegant curves throughout the cabin take inspiration from British Airways’ Concorde wings, giving a natural flow to the space and creating a welcoming environment. Customers can now simply wheel their luggage into their personal luggage space, making it even easier to settle in before their flight. Elsewhere, the suite features an ambient light with an eye-catching design that subtly references the airline’s speedmarque and further nods to Concorde. The suite features window blinds, activated by buttons on the internal control panel for all three windows per seat. The soft panelling inside the seat also helps with acoustics and absorbing sound, which adds to the sense of being in a cocooned, private space. Customers can also use the seat’s brand-new ‘do not disturb’ functionality on its wireless control tablet, which notifies crew if they wish to maximise their rest on board. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_single_image image="31928" img_size="full" css=""][vc_single_image image="31929" img_size="full" css=""][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_single_image image="31930" img_size="full" css=""][vc_single_image image="31931" img_size="full" css=""][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=""]British Airways’ Chief Customer Officer, Calum Laming, said: “We’re incredibly proud to launch the next era of First that pushes the boundaries of comfort, luxury and modernity, taking into consideration customer preferences and expectations to the finest detail. “This coupled with our incredible colleagues delivering a world-class service, following the launch of our First Service Specialists scheme, as well as the many benefits of flying First such as First Wing entry, access to our award-winning lounges including our Concorde Room and priority boarding, means we truly believe we offer a winning combination in delivering an extraordinary experience for our customers.” The airline listened to colleagues and customers to help shape design elements and specific features to suit preferences, such as the carefully placed stowage with useability and purpose in mind. The airline also introduced its fully rectangular bed following customer feedback that replicates all the comforts of a home environment. The airline also worked closely with world-class manufacturer, Collins Aerospace RTX business, to create the First seat, following its involvement in carefully crafting British Airways’ Club Suite and short-haul aircraft seats earlier this year. British Airways is proud to be the only European carrier from the UK to offer a First product across the Atlantic. Customers travelling in First can experience the airline’s most luxurious way to travel, from a stylish seat, exclusive access to lounges, fast-track security, use of the First Wing at Heathrow and excellent service on board. The airline offers the most premium experience for travellers from the moment they book to when they land in their destination. Sydney Airport Announces $200M Overhaul

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=""]November 22nd, 2024 - Sydney Airport Announces Biggest Renovation in over 30 Years Sydney Airport is about to undergo its most significant revamp of the T2 Domestic Terminal in over three decades, with the Airport this week announcing a $200 million upgrade to the T2 Domestic Terminal. Slated for completion in late 2026, the extensive overhaul is designed to drastically overhaul passenger experience, cut down on wait times and future-proof the terminal for further expected growth, cutting the time from kerbside to airside to under 15 minutes. [/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image="31808" img_size="full" alignment="center" css=""][vc_column_text css=""] Much-anticipated and sorely needed, the overhaul will tackle long-standing frustrations that travellers to and from the airport have expressed throughout the years, with slow-moving check-in queues and drawn-out security wait times at the top of the list. Leading the charge in a suite of major updates to the Terminal are upgrades to the security checkpoints, including the introduction of advanced ‘Standard 3’ scanners across seven processing lanes by the end of 2025. Designed to cut down the amount of time people spend waiting in security checkpoint lines, the new 'Standard 3' scanners will allow travellers to go through security with laptops and liquids still in their carry-on, as well. The Airport will also be introducing dedicated lanes for families and those who may need assistance, as well as two new lifts making it easier to access the food court and departure areas. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image="31812" img_size="full" css=""][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=""] An increase in the number of available self-service kiosks and bag drop facilities is also on the list to be upgraded, with the airport estimating that 95% of passengers will reach airside in less than 15 minutes once these upgrades are complete. T2 Terminal currently serves 17 million passengers annually, making this a lofty but achievable goal. Sydney Airport CEO, Scott Charlton, is excited for the Airport's future. “While we understand that the upgrade works may cause temporary disruption, we want to thank passengers and our airline partners for their patience and understanding during this important transformation." The upgrades are set to make Sydney Airport T2 Terminal "one of the fastest and most efficient in Australia". This initiative builds on recent upgrades at T2, including enhanced dining, retail options, and the opening of a Duty-Free-style department store near Gate 31. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

The pilot is an initiative of the Trans-Tasman Seamless Travel Group, which was established to deliver on the Australian and New Zealand's Prime Ministers' commitment to explore ways to move closer to seamless travel between the two countries. Their vision is to work towards 'contactless travel' whereby passengers can rely on digital credentials and facial recognition for quicker and easier progression through key steps at airports. Following months of planning and development between the ABF, Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) and Qantas, the Australia Travel Declaration pilot commenced on Monday (21 October 2024). Eligible passengers were invited to complete the digital form in the Qantas app prior to travelling on QF126 from Auckland – the first flight of the pilot – which landed at Brisbane Airport about 5pm. After completing the declaration, those passengers received a digital pass with a QR code through the Qantas app and to their nominated email, which was shown to ABF and DAFF officers for swift clearance through biosecurity and border controls. [/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image="31385" img_size="full" alignment="center" css=""][vc_column_text css=""] ABF Commissioner Michael Outram said it was exciting to be on the way to ditching the paper card – starting with flights across the Tasman. “A significant amount of work has gone into getting this pilot off the ground, and I'd like to commend the efforts and contribution of Australian and New Zealand agencies and companies to get us to here," Commissioner Outram said. “This is just one of a number of border modernisation initiatives being co-designed and co-financed by government and industry, and the importance of this opportunity cannot be overstated.  “As we prepare to welcome the world to Brisbane for the 2032 Olympics, we are striving to be the most innovative leaders at the border, and this is the first of many big steps in the right direction." DAFF Deputy Secretary of Biosecurity Justine Saunders said biosecurity was a shared responsibility. “We are pleased to see the biosecurity process becoming more integrated and streamlined while still effectively protecting Australia from harmful biosecurity pests and diseases," Ms Saunders said. “The success of this pilot program is a step in the right direction towards our shared end goal of achieving streamlined border clearances." Qantas Group Chief Customer and Digital Officer, Catriona Larritt said “Qantas customers will be the first to experience this great initiative through the Qantas App, in partnership with the Australian Government. “This is only an initial step as part of a larger project to make the arrival experience more seamless for our customers." Brisbane Airport CEO, Gert-Jan de Graaff, said “This trial is an important step forward, moving Australia closer to the experience of the world's leading travel hubs. “We're proud to play a part in shaping the future of seamless travel for everyone." Eligible passengers – adults, travelling solo, who are Qantas customers and willing to use a SmartGate – on flights to Brisbane from Auckland (initially the afternoon flight) will be invited to complete their declarations through the Qantas app, up to 72 hours prior to departure. The pilot will expand to flights departing other New Zealand cities – including Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown – to Brisbane in the coming days and weeks. This will likely also expand to more Australian airports during the pilot stage, while further international locations and other airlines will be considered as the program progresses beyond the pilot stage. Qantas Unveils Next Generation Cabin Upgrades for A330 Aircraft

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=""]October 25th, 2024 - Qantas Announces Multimillion Dollar Upgrade to A330 Aircraft Qantas has unveiled new Economy seats with larger entertainment screens that will feature across Airbus A330s which operate international flights between Australia and Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo as part of a major refurbishment program. [/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image="31321" img_size="full" alignment="center" css=""][vc_column_text css=""] The multimillion-dollar investment in cabin upgrades will be rolled out across ten A330-200 aircraft and includes: Installing the brand-new Economy seats that have been designed with extra customer comfort for Qantas’ Project Sunrise ultra-long haul flights. 4K OLED 13.3” entertainment touchscreens for Economy with the latest generation user interface (20 per cent larger than the existing screen). USB-C fast charging and Bluetooth audio connectivity for Economy which allow users to use their own headphones. Other key elements of the A330 cabin upgrade program include new mood lighting and the replacement of all curtains and carpets. The existing Business Suites with fully-flat beds will remain on the aircraft. They continue to receive positive feedback from customers and are the same product that feature on Qantas’ A380 and 787 Dreamliner fleet. Work on the first A330 is expected to start in mid-2025 in Qantas’ Brisbane maintenance facility with the first refurbished aircraft entering service by the end of the calendar year. The refurbishment program is expected to be completed by the end of 2026. Qantas International CEO Cam Wallace said the multi-million dollar investment in existing A330s cabins would upgrade the experience for both passengers and crew as more new international aircraft progressively join the fleet over the coming years. Qantas announced the final piece of its jet fleet renewal program last year with a firm order for 24 aircraft to progressively replace its existing A330s – 12 Airbus A350s and 12 Boeing 787s arriving from FY27 into the next decade. The longer range delivered by the 787 and A350 aircraft on order means they will be able to operate all the routes the A330s currently operate, as well as open up new ones. The A330 aircraft being upgraded are scheduled to leave the Qantas fleet towards the end of the replacement program. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_single_image image="31322" img_size="full" css=""][vc_single_image image="31324" img_size="full" css=""][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_single_image image="31323" img_size="full" css=""][vc_single_image image="31325" img_size="full" css=""][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=""] Update on international Wi-Fi roll out Qantas has also started its international Wi-Fi roll out across the A330 fleet. Fast and free Wi-Fi is expected to be available for Qantas flights on some routes in Asia using the Wi-Fi enabled A330 aircraft from December this year. Passengers on activated aircraft can already to connect W-Fi while flying over Australia to and from destinations such as Hong Kong, Delhi and Bengaluru. The service will offer enough bandwidth for every passenger to enjoy a fast and consistent connection, similar to Qantas Domestic Australia flights where the speed and reliability of inflight Wi-Fi has driven average take-up rates of 75 per cent, with some routes showing up to 100 per cent uptake. You’ll notice the difference as soon as you step on board our Boeing 777-300ER. “It’s thoughtfully designed and effortlessly intuitive,” says Lo. “That’s what truly sets us apart.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

American Airlines Launches Brisbane to Dallas Direct Flights

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=""]For the first time ever, American Airlines is launching service between Brisbane (BNE) and Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW) on Oct. 27. As travel to North America from Asia Pacific continues to grow in demand, the introduction of American’s second route to Australia ensures even greater adventure opportunities for those travelling from Down Under. DFW serves as an important gateway to explore other parts of the United States, Canada, Europe and Latin America. “We’ve had an incredible response from travellers looking to venture to North America and beyond from Australia, so we’re excited to be further strengthening our Asia-Pacific footprint as we add sunny Queensland to our growing list of destinations. With our new route and our partnership with Qantas, we hope to open-up the world even more to customers,” said José Freig, Vice President International Operations. “With this new route, our customers in Brisbane will have access to our largest U.S. hub, from where they can connect to explore unexplored and much-loved destinations around the world; from sunny Miami, to the deep South in Sao Paolo and beyond.” When American’s seasonal service begins, it will be the longest nonstop flight in the airline’s network. BNE - DFW schedule*[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image="30878" img_size="full" css=""][vc_column_text css=""]*Flight times subject to change and account for Daylight Savings. Gert-Jan de Graaff, CEO, Brisbane Airport, comments: “American Airlines’ entry into the market is a milestone moment, locking in Brisbane Airport’s 30th direct international connection, our 25th international airline, and Brisbane’s longest route.  Its Dallas Fort Worth hub will provide travellers with a world of options in North, Central and South America. It underscores Brisbane's allure as a global destination, and unlocks fresh tourism and business prospects for Queensland, with every jet providing export opportunities to the USA. Our partnership with American Airlines supercharges Brisbane Airport’s position as an aviation hub and will be Brisbane’s 4th gateway into North America, alongside Vancouver, San Francisco and Los Angeles.” The joint business between American and Qantas continues to offer customers one of the most comprehensive networks connecting North America and Australia and New Zealand. Next winter, the partnership will offer services from Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), New York (JFK) and Vancouver, Canada (YVR), to three major gateways in Australia: Brisbane (BNE), Melbourne (MEL), Sydney (SYD) and Auckland, New Zealand (AKL). As part of the American–Qantas partnership, customers will be able to connect to more than 200 destinations across the U.S., and nearly 70 destinations across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific — more than any other partnership. Queensland Deputy Premier, Treasurer and Minister for Trade and Investment Cameron Dick, comments: “This is a massive coup for Queensland as we continue to rebuild international tourism after the COVID downturn, opening up the state to the lucrative North American market during the peak winter period.” “This new American Airlines service also opens up so many new opportunities for Queensland businesses, both in Texas and across parts of the eastern and southern United States."   For more information on the new flight offerings and how to book, contact Pulse Travel on 1300 131 885.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

NEW YEAR, NEW CORPORATE TRAVEL POLICY

Have you ever heard of the saying, ‘new year, new me’? Well, it’s time to introduce you to our favourite saying: ‘New year, new corporate travel policy’. If you’ve travelled for business for any length of time, you will know that a businesses travel policy is their travel bible. Including everything from what hotels and airlines you can use to what to do if you get stranded overseas, your corporate travel policy is vital to ensuring your business trips not only run smoothly, but also run to budget. A 2015 study undertaken by the Association of Corporate Travel Executives found that 72% of travel managers were unhappy with their level of travel compliance. If this sounds like you, why not take the opportunity to grab the bull by the horns and update things this year? The team at Pulse Travel are professionals at creating and updating corporate travel policies, and they have a few tips on what to consider when you start strengthening yours: 1. Is Your Corporate Travel Policy Still Valid? There’s no denying it, the way we travel has changed vastly over the last two years. While corporate travel is slowly returning to more normal levels, there are still plenty of new hurdles to jump over before your employees jet off on their next business trip, and your corporate travel policy needs to reflect that. A few things you should consider are: What are the valid reasons for business trips? Are your preferred hotels still COVID-safe and operational? Is it still appropriate for your employees to use rideshare vehicles? What happens if your employee becomes unwell while travelling? Business travel is certainly going to look vastly different compared to 2019. There are several benefits of a strong, valid corporate travel policy, so ensuring that yours is up-to-date is vital. If you’re not sure how to write or update your travel policy, the team at Pulse Travel will be happy to assist. 2. Consult With Your Employees If you want to ensure that your corporate travel policy is followed to the letter in 2022 and beyond, the best way to do it is to communicate with your employees about their wants and needs. Now, before we go further, we should caveat all of this with the knowledge that you can never please everybody. Suggestions may be unrealistic, out of budget, clash or be outdated, but if you want to ensure your policy is followed, the best way to do it is to consult with the boots on the ground (or in the air). Depending on the size of your business, there are a few ways you could do this. Larger businesses may wish to send out a company-wide survey inviting people to give their opinions, while smaller businesses may wish to sit down with each travelling employee and discuss their wants and needs. Consulting your employees may help not only uncover policies that no longer serve your travellers, but also help to discover new ways to cut costs without significantly impacting travel, giving them a sense of inclusion and involvement that will make them more likely to follow it. 3. Are Your Employees Appropriately Educated On Your Policy? Ensuring that your corporate travel policy is followed requires two ingredients: Communication and education. The start of the year is commonly the most popular time for hiring new staff, and if they’re likely to be embarking on business trips, they need to be trained on what they can and can’t do. Having a strong business policy is all well and good, but if your employees aren’t clear on what’s included, there is no point in having one at all -  they need to be clear on what rideshare services can be used (and whether rideshare during peak hours is approved), which restaurants are approved and what expenses can be reimbursed at the end of the trip, among other things. While educating your new staff on your travel policy is essential, it’s also a wise idea to require regular refresher courses with your existing staff, ensuring that they’re kept in the loop with any updates and changes that are made. Employing a corporate travel management team such as Pulse Travel can go a long way to assisting with all of this. 4. Is Your Policy Clear And Accessible Enough? Have you ever tried to follow a set of instructions that you didn’t understand? It can often work out badly, and it’s the same for your corporate travel policy. Your corporate travel policy is your travel instruction manual, and if you want your business trips to be a success, it needs to be clear and accessible. When your corporate travel policy is originally written, it will likely include a wealth of complex terms that can easily confuse your travellers and lead to accidental non-compliance. A simple way to avoid this is to ensure any key terms are defined, and any key areas clearly noted for people to refer back to when required. Having your travel policy readily available through your travel policy will also mean that it’s there when people need it the most, making it easy to refer back to and thus easier to follow. 5. Have You Taken Appropriate Advantage Of New Technologies? The land of travel technology is always improving and transforming, and in a generation where technology is as familiar as the backs of our hands, incorporating it into your corporate travel policy is important. Travel technology can come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Online booking tools can be used to track expenses and manage compliance, while end-to-end solutions can help you keep track of the entire process, from booking flights and hotels to post-travel reports. Many corporate travel managers utilise online booking tools to ensure seamless travel for their clients, and it’s recommended that you include the details of your travel manager in your travel policy for your employees to use. Apart from travel specific technology, there is also a range of other non travel-specific technologies that you may want to enforce in your updated corporate travel policy. Online, company-wide calendars can help coworkers to keep track of each other's meetings and movements, and internal communication such as Microsoft Teams can ensure efficient communication. Changing and strengthening your corporate travel policy is not something that can happen overnight. As your business slowly returns to corporate travel, it’s important to check that you have a strong, clear and valid travel policy to ensure your employees are happy and compliance levels are high. If you’re considering returning to corporate travel throughout 2022, the experienced team at Pulse Travel would be happy to update your existing travel policy with you, or help you to create a new one that’s modern and ironclad. Don’t leave it to the last minute and get caught out with a policy that’s out of date and hard to understand - get in contact with our team today. I can't figure out how to do an emdash on a Mac. Fight me.

Is Your Travel Policy Ready For 2021?

With the interstate and international borders currently opening and closing like revolving doors, it can be hard to know what to expect when you book a corporate trip. Although times have certainly changed with the occasional snap lockdown, businesses are slowly starting to regain confidence in their ability to travel. But is your business ready to travel again? While you may be ready, before you start booking flights, transfers and accommodation, you need to make sure your business travel policy is up to date.   What is a travel policy? A travel policy is a document which outlines a business’s rules regarding interstate and international travel. It can include many things, such as: Which in-house processes that must be followed Which travel agency bookings to book with Various travel insurance policies What expenses your business will cover versus what the employee is expected to pay for. It can also detail particulars such as preferred airlines and car rentals, deadlines for travel bookings, cancellation policies, whether employees are allowed to travel with partners,  and who gets the much-coveted airpoints—the company or the individual? [nd_options_spacer nd_options_height="20"] Who creates the travel policy document? Typically, a travel policy is a collaboration between a reputable travel agency and a company director or financial office. At Pulse Travel, you’ll deal directly with one of our highly skilled corporate agents, who can help you create a comprehensive travel policy customised for your company. [nd_options_spacer nd_options_height="20"] What should I include in it? As we navigate towards a new normal, it’s important to ensure that when your employees recommence travel, the travel policy highlights everything they need to know.  Pre-pandemic travel policies may have covered approved airlines, hotels and meals allowances but now, there's a lot more to consider. Post-pandemic travel policies should also cover a range of extra’s, such as what happens when an employee gets stuck overseas or interstate or has to quarantine on return? By completing the necessary groundwork before travelling, you’ll save both time and money over debating reimbursements. Not to mention all of the sleep you won’t have to lose if one of those considerations does happen! While 2021 has certainly provided travel challenges, it has also provided new opportunities.  According to a study released by Forbes, 3 out of 4 people believe working remotely will become the new normal [1]. With more employees working from home—interstate and internationally—it’s becoming increasingly important to put rules in place for staff who are required to travel for in-office days or weeks. The combination of work-from-home and team meetings will redefine what constitutes a ‘business trip’. By engaging with a corporate travel agency such as Pulse Travel, your company can stay across the latest travel advice and changes as they occur.  They can also work with you to create a flexible travel policy that suits your individual business needs. As we navigate these uncertain times in an effort to return to normal, flexibility is paramount. More and more businesses are favouring airfares and accommodation with flexible booking options to reduce fees from changes or cancellations. Having a designated corporate travel agent that you deal with on a regular basis can help you to navigate the ongoing changes to travel and save as much money as possible.   So what now? If you haven’t updated your business travel policy for 2021, now is the time to touch base with Pulse Travel and make sure your employees are all on the same page. Updating your business policy is the next exciting step to getting your business off the ground and back to normal. Ensure you take the time to discuss what changes and additions may be required, as well as look at how you can protect your employees. We look forward to getting our clients back in the air and on the road, so contact one of our corporate travel agents to discuss your policy today. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Cruise News

Although the cruise industry recently launched a campaign to convince the government to allow domestic trips, it seems cruises are still too high-risk to resume at this stage. On the 8th December Australia's Chief Medical Officer Paul Kelly and Health Minister Greg Hunt made the announcement that there will be a further ban on cruise ships operating around Australia until 17 March 2021, with an international ban until at least 30 March 2021. However, we know there are many cruise buffs out there, like us, who feel more at home on a ship than the shore and can't wait for the cruise industry to be back in full swing. We hope the below updates from our favourite cruiselines brings you reassurance that the cruise industry is ready to go and bookings are open![nd_options_spacer nd_options_height="20"][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]APT RIVER CRUISES APT have just released their superdeals for travel in 2022 for bookings up to Mar 21. Instant fines for NZ visitors

Travellers who incorrectly complete Arrival Cards after landing in New Zealand will be issued on-the-spot fines of NZ$400, under new regulations which become effective today. The new Infringement Notice regime covers a total of 70 offences, and also includes failure to declare tobacco or alcohol over the duty-free limit, or even using a mobile phone in restricted airport or cruise terminal areas. NZ Customs says the new arrangement covers “strict liability offences,” meaning travellers will have “committed an offence even though you had no intention of doing so and there is no criminal conviction”. The non-compliant activity includes refusing or failing to answer questions from a Customs Officer about documents, records or travel details, importing prohibited goods, or “where the contents of a parcel addressed to you do not match the description on the parcel declaration”.[vc_row css=".vc_custom_1492008848756{margin-top: 20px !important;}"][vc_column width="1/2"][nd_options_image nd_options_align="center" nd_options_image="3523" nd_options_width="100%"][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=".vc_custom_1467643035435{margin-top: 40px !important;}"][vc_column][nd_options_divider nd_options_align="nd_options_text_align_left" nd_options_width="30px" nd_options_height="2px" nd_options_color="#f1f1f1"][nd_options_spacer nd_options_height="20"][vc_column_text]The $400 fine is consistent with Biosecurity NZ’s penalty for failing to declare risk items at the border. “Fines send a strong message about the importance of protecting the border, and deter people from breaking the rules,” NZ Customs said. The agency also debunked suggestions the new arrangements were “just revenue gathering,” claiming that the revenue collected was negligible. The new arrangements have become effective following a six-month education period to introduce the changes. Source: Travel Daily[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
